Sustainability is Easy

At P.F Lynch we are dedicated to discovering new and innovative technologies which enable us to protect and enhance the environment we work in. Each job we undertake is an opportunity for us as a small business, to showcase how easy making the switch to environmentally friendly alternatives really is.

WELFARE

Our site set-up commonly consists of market leading Eco welfare, which not only allows us to significantly reduce our local carbon emissions, but also saves our clients money. We recently showcased a brand new unit on a National Grid site in the Peak District. Despite reduced availability of sun throughout the winter months, between the 8th November to 28th January, we were able to save at least 1543kg of carbon emissions from being released into the atmosphere. Additionally this lead to a saving of over 619L of fuel.

Unfortunately in the UK, the sun isn’t always around, so the use of a back-up generator is sometimes unavoidable. Nevertheless, there is an easy solution to further reducing carbon emissions when a generator is required. As standard, across all of our sites we now use sustainably and responsibly sourced HVO, which reduces carbon emissions by 90% in comparison to standard diesel. Not only does this ensure we are further minimising our impact on the environment and wildlife that we are working amongst, but it creates a quieter and cleaner environment for our teams on site.

POWER

For longer term projects, it is important that we ensure a sustainable power supply is maintained as constantly as possible. To assist our welfare units in gathering solar energy, a solar generator can be introduced to the setup. This increases the solar capturing capacity of the site and enables increased energy storage to cover longer periods of time where the sun isn’t present.

PRACTICE

As a company our speciality lies in vegetation clearance and grounds maintenance, so we have a responsibility to ensure we carry out our works in a responsible and sustainable manner. To avoid soil damage and disturbance of wildlife, our vegetation works are directed by onsite ecologists and carried out using predominately hand tools in a directional method. We base our management of invasive species on the most up-to-date scientific methodology, to ensure swift eradication. For our tree planting schemes we use market leading biodegradable shelters to reduce plastic wastes on our sites and collection/disposal emissions. All of our resources and materials are sourced from approved suppliers, to ensure our quality standards meet ISO 9001: 2015.
